Personal shopping carts

I'm considering getting some type of folding shopping cart that I can use while at the grocery store and when transporting items the few blocks to my home. I invision something that will be able to hold a good amount of groceries, have at least two large compartments as with regular shopping carts, and will fold away to take less space between trips to the store. Any suggestions?

We used to have one many years ago. They were great! I think some of the blindness places sell them, but I'm not sure. You also might try some of the places that sell products for senior citizens like Doctor Leonards. Good Luck.

I've seen two, but neither one of them fits your exact description. One is a two wheeled cart, rather small, and worked perfectly for me when I used a guidedog. You're probably supposed to push it, but I pulled it behind me, It would probably hold about 70 to 80 pounds.
The other one is a four wheeled cart, and it will hold up to 120 pounds. My problem with this one is that although it has four wheels, they are all straight, meaning they have no casters, so there's no steering capabilities. To make a turn, you have to lean the cart back on two wheels, and if it's really full, it puts a lot of strain on the cart. Also, this larger cart isn't nearly as sturdy as the smaller one. One possible advantage to the larger cart is that it does have a handle that comes up quite a bit higher, and with a rubber grip. To me though, even that rubber grip is anoying because it isn't stationary and will move from one side of the handle to the other as you're trying to maneuver the cart, which makes for quite a frustrating time when the cart is full, you're climbing a hill and trying to turn a corner. I know that you can get the large one from doctor Lenards. I don't know about the smaller one. I bought mine at a hardware store about 15 years ago, and I still have it, and can hardly even tell it's been used. Hope this will at least help steer you in the right direction. Sorry I didn't see this request earlier.

I have two carts. The bigger one has four wheels and the smaller one has two. Like the poster above said, sometimes it is hard to turn them if they are really full. They each only have one compartment and can be folded for storage.

I ended up getting something from The Container Store that works well. Two large wheels, plastic bottomed with a fitted mesh covering, adjustable handle, strap which can be used to attach other bags or clip it to the handle of a shopping cart. Works very well.

Pretty slick. Mine I got directly from the market. It's just 2 wheels, has 2 places, and is light. You can hang bags from it as well if it full. I've started using these earth bags. The cost a buck, and are way better then the plastic, hold more, plus help the earth.
